- Watch the Parade
Begin the day by watching the Thanksgiving Day parade with your family! The floats and shows in between will entertain the kids, and it will give you time to relax before beginning the preparations for the main event.
- Do a Turkey Trot
If hitting the ground running is more your style, sign-up your family for a local Turkey Trot! The run, or walk, will be an excellent family event to begin the day. Not to mention, it’s a great way to exercise before the big dinner!
- Mini-Pumpkin Hunt
Same thing as an Easter egg hunt, but with mini-pumpkins! Hide cute, little mini-pumpkins throughout your home or backyard.
- Fall Crafting and Coloring
Thanksgiving crafts for kids are a great activity to keep them busy while you cook. Spread out some coloring pages, or check out some fun Pinterest projects that they can enjoy!
- FaceTime or Video Chat Loved Ones
Sometime relatives or friends can’t make it to Thanksgiving Dinner. Take time our of the busy day to FaceTime or Video Chat loved ones that weren’t able to make it to your home for the event.
- Give Thanks
You had to have known this was coming! During dinner, ask your kids and loved ones about what they are thankful for this year.
- Holiday Movies
The best way to relax after Thanksgiving dinner is to snuggle up on the couch with the family. Close the night by watching some classic holiday movies and cozying up to loved ones.
